چکیده
M-ary Aggregate Spread Pulse Modulation (M-ASPM) is the physical layer (PHY) modulation technique that well suited for use in low-power wide-area networks (LPWANs). Notably, M-ASPM combines high energy-per-bit efficiency, robustness, resistance to interference, and a number of other favorable technical characteristics, with spread-spectrum ability maintain capacity an uplink-focused network while extending its range. However, when all nodes transmit same average power, implementation such capacity-preserving range extension may become impractical complicated propagation environments greatly varying path losses. Favorably, efficiency constant-envelope pulses can be maintained effectively as transmitting continuous waveform. Then power different adjusted, without sacrificing transmission compensate differences attenuation. This enables us significantly simplify planning management network. In addition, variable-power approach generally increases energy nodes, compared arrangement constant power. this paper, we outline practical implementing energy-efficient control, used scaling LPWANs realistic desired and/or actual areal distributions uplink under diverse conditions.

Circuit for noise-shaping Pulse-density Modulation
We propose a bio-inspired circuit performing pulse-density modulation with single-electron devices. The proposed circuit consists of three single-electron neuronal units, receiving the same input and are connected to a common output. The output is inhibitorily fedback to the three neuronal circuits through a capacitive coupling. The circuit performance was evaluated through Monte-Carlo based co...
متن کاملModulation, Pre-Equalization and Pulse Shaping for PCM Voiceband Channels
For the past few decades, analog voiceband modems have been used extensively to carry digital information over the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN). Conventional voiceband modems treat the PSTN as an analog communication channel. However, today’s PSTN is mostly a digital network except for the basic telephone services provided via analog subscriber lines. The conventional model of analo...

This article compares the performance of binary turbo codes and Reed–Solomon (RS) codes in an optical communications system employing high-order pulseposition modulation (PPM) and an avalanche photodiode (APD) detector. Despite restriction of the turbo codes to binary alphabets and very simple 4or 8-state encoders, they have coding gains 0.5-dB to 0.7-dB higher than equivalent-rate RS codes whe...

We investigate the temporal precision in the generation of ultrashort laser pulse pairs by pulse shaping techniques. To this end, we combine a femtosecond polarization pulse shaper with a polarizer and employ two linear spectral phase masks to mimic an ultrastable common-path interferometer. In an all-optical experiment we study the interference signal resulting from two temporally delayed puls...

Volume holograms for subpicosecond pulse shaping are described. Experimental results with a camphorquinonedoped plastic hologram probed by a colliding-pulse mode-locked laser are presented. We observe a 2-THz beat frequency in the diffracted pulse.
